This is the first Diplolepis that I've seen in the yard.

I've reared many from galls collected elsewhere but, this is the first wild one on our little lot.

Many of these were visiting saskatoon flowers

This hawk was on the ground in our backyard when I startled it. It flew to a nearby tree, but then flew off before I could get a better picture. It was carrying some type of prey.
