Campanula rapunculoides (Creeping Bellflower)

Introduced Species

This is the worst weed in the yard. Once it gets established, it is nearly impossible to remove. Although I try to pull the flowering stalks before they set seed (a single plant can produce 15,000 seeds), the plant also propagates by stolons, rhizomes, and tubers which are hard to extract. It will grow in nearly any soil, wet or dry, in sun or shade, hardiness zones 3-9 (Moscow is zone 6b).

But according to Forager|Chef, the leaves, flowers, and roots are edible. So maybe I should eat them, since I can't remove them.

Creeping bellflower is a herbaceous perennial that is native to Europe and Western Asia..
