A Western Giant Ichneumonid Wasp (Megarhyssa nortoni nortoni) oviposited on a dead or dying spruce tree in our yard. Since these wasps are host specific, I suspect it was targeting the larva of the White-Horned Horntail (Urocerus albicornis), which I haven't yet observed in the yard.
